About Us
The CCWKNHA was founded in May 1996, and the Wing Kei Villa was opened in February 1997 in partnership with Bethany Care Centre. It has become the home for 30 happy Chinese seniors, meeting their unique health requirements. The Villa has earned much respect in the community, but for a lot of seniors, it is an endless wait to get in. The need for a larger facility is urgently needed.
The Wing Kei Care Centre is conveniently located at 1212 Centre Street N.E., within walking distance to Chinatown. It admitted its first retirement residents on May 1, 2005; and admission for the long term care beds started on May 18, 2005.
For the seniors who are being admitted to the Wing Kei Care Centre, the wait is finally over. 135 seniors are calling Wing Kei their home, where they receive culturally appropriate nursing care that meet their physical, social, spiritual, and emotional needs in a Christian environment. It is fully integrated with the Alberta Health Services' long-term care plan, and has free up care beds in the mainstream care centres for use by other seniors in the broader Calgary Community.
