POSITION SUMMARY
Under the supervision of Chief Financial Officer and Manager of Finance, the Accounting / Payroll Technician will be responsible for providing general accounting service to the organization, mostly in the accounts Payable area and also assist in payroll support. This position may also provide support in other general accounting services including accounts receivable and general bookkeeping.

THE ROLE
Key Accountabilities
- Demonstrate, promote and advocate the Wing Kei vision, mission and core values
- Prepare bank deposits and reconcile records of bank transactions
- Ensure the timely and accurate payment of invoices and ensuring expense are properly coded and recorded in GL
- Perform and review financial data entry; manage and verify relevant financial data/documents using different means of tools
- Provide administrative/clerical support in resident admission process (ie. Contract signing with families, preparation of invoices etc)
- Assist with/ perform payroll calculation and data compiling for reporting
- Analyze business transactions and period end adjustments
- Assist in developing and implementing an effective and accountable financial reporting system in compliance with relevant legislations and internal controls
THE INDIVIDUAL WHO WILL SUCCEED
- Is aligned with Wing Kei’s vision and mission to continue to deliver excellence in seniors care
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration certificate/diploma program (or equivalent)
- 1-3 years of work experience in a similar role would be preferred
- Is an individual who honors confidentiality and exhibits consistent sound judgement
- Demonstrate the ability to work independently on routine task; ability to multi-task with high accuracy and prioritize tasks in a fast pace environment
- Demonstrates keen attention to detail as well as critical thinking skills
- Customer service-orientated; works well with interdisciplinary teams
- Is eager to grow and learn, willing to be flexible with pace of work
- Effective Communication skills including writing and speaking
- Proven computer skills and proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, Power Point)
- Experience with UKG Workforce Dimension (Kronos) and ACCPAC will be an asset
