THE OPPORTUNITY
Working closely with the Manager of Finance, the Accounting & Finance Analyst will be responsible for providing support in the areas of financial analysis, reporting, internal process and policies review. Finance services to the organization include accounts receivable, accounts payable, general bookkeeping, payroll, financial reporting and admissions partnership with Care team.
THE ROLE
Key Accountabilities
- Demonstrate, promote and advocate the Wing Kei vision, mission and core values
- Analyze business transactions, prepare adjustments and all period end GL entries
- Review day-to-day Finance activities including all A/R and A/P entries and reconciliations
- Prepare draft financial statements and financial reports for Manager review and approval
- Coordinate and facilitate efficient processing of transactions in partnership with other Wing Kei teams; establish and maintain best practices to minimize risk and errors
- Assist Manager of Finance in quality assurance; re-engineer processes to maintain resourceful production and high standards of accuracy and compliance
- Facilitate effective partnership with other teams in providing quality services
- Support initiatives relating to system-related implementation, integration or improvement
- Regularly monitor internal controls for legal compliance and audit readiness
THE INDIVIDUAL WHO WILL SUCCEED
- Is aligned with Wing Kei’s vision and mission to continue to deliver excellence in seniors care
- 1-2 years of work experience in a similar role is preferred
- Degree in Accounting; years of work experience in a relevant position would be considered for equivalence; recent new graduate may be considered
- While Chartered Professional Accounting (CPA) designation or working towards CPA is not required, once hired, you may be eligible for educational assistance if interested in pursuing this designation
- Is an individual who honors confidentiality, professionalism; exhibits consistent sound judgement
- Possess strong leadership skills; has values-based and effective strategies for performance management and conflict resolution
- Demonstrate the ability to work independently balanced with timeliness in escalating issues
- Ability to multi-task with high accuracy and prioritize tasks in a fast pace environment
- Demonstrates keen attention to detail as well as critical thinking skills
- Customer service-orientation is a must; works well with interdisciplinary teams
- Is eager to grow and learn, willing to be flexible with pace of work
- Effective Communication skills including writing and speaking, clarity with details/numbers
- Proven computer skills and proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, Power Point)
- Experience with ACCPAC , Sage and any other financial systems would be an asset
