Under the guidance of the Director of Hospitality, the Hospitality Coordinator will be assisting in maintaining, planning, directing and administering the food services, housekeeping/laundry, reception and purchasing programs of the facilities in accordance with the government’s policies and standards.

THE ROLE

Key Accountabilities

  • Demonstrates, promotes and advocates the Wing Kei vision, mission and core values
  • Under the direction of the Director of Hospitality, assists in planning, directing and administering the food services, housekeeping/laundry, reception and purchasing programs
  • Ensures that the facility is maintained in a sanitary, attractive and safe condition and in compliance with relevant government legislations and standards, with due consideration of the resources available
  • Finds reliable sources to supply goods and services
  • Supervises the purchasing team and contacts suppliers to obtain information on price, quality and delivery capabilities for the goods/services required
  • Creates financial and statistical tools and reports using spreadsheets/ database
  • Manages, organizes and updates relevant data
  • Communicates and provides information internally and externally to assist and enable organizational operations and effective service to connecting groups
  • Interprets instructions and issues arising, and then implements actions according to administrative policies and procedures
  • Researches and investigates information to enable strategic decision-making by others
  • Arranges and participates in meetings, conferences and project team activities
  • Provides support on training and professional development of staff
  • Provides support in coordinating maintenance projects to ensure a safe and healthy environment
  • Demonstrates knowledge of and observes all policies, procedures and standards of Wing Kei
  • Participates in creating and maintaining a safe and healthy environment by understanding and following health and Safety rules, regulations and practices such as fire, emergency response training, WHMIS, data security and infection control
  • Maintains good communication and interpersonal relationships with the public, residents, volunteers and other team members
  • Participates in in-service programs
  • Keeps up-to-date with developments and best practices in the field
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Has completed a Bachelors degree program, or equivalent in years of experience in a relevant position
  • Prior proven experience in an administrative position
  • Is an individual who exhibits high ethical standards and consistent sound judgment

  • Thrives in a growing organization, remaining a positive attitude through temporary challenges
  • Finds it easy to enjoy a variety of tasks, and is eager to grow and learn
  • Can manage through some fluctuations in pace of work while still disciplined in meeting deadlines
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail
  • Has great phone and office etiquette, enjoys building rapport and connecting with a diverse audience
  • Has good computer literacy; experience in Microsoft office required
  • Communicates well in writing, speaking and presenting; ability to communicate in Cantonese or Mandarin is an asset
