THE OPPORTUNITY
Wing Kei was successful in receiving a provincial government grant to develop a toolkit to enable continuing care staff and volunteers to engage in courageous, culturally-sensitive end of life conversations with residents and their families. The Project Coordinator will contribute to the project in tangible ways that will ensure engagement, due diligence, continuous improvement, and an excellent end result. Working as a collaborative, integrated team and reporting to the Project Lead, the Project Coordinator will conduct research, draft the toolkit, develop resources grounded in adult education principles, coordinate the pilot program, plan logistics, and implement related communications and promotions. The Project Coordinator will liaise with experts, partners, and caregivers internally and externally.
THE ROLE
Key Accountabilities
- Professional and personal resonance with Wing Kei’s mission, vision, and values will help you develop a toolkit that is values-inspired
- Conducts due diligence, drawing on experts and relevant resources, in order to synthesizes research and best practices to inform the toolkit
- Uses knowledge and expertise of the continuing care sector, palliative and end of life care, person centred care, and adult education to contextualize research and best practice
- Develops and implements engagement and communication plans to create, test, and pilot resources
- Actively seeks, integrates input from, and communicates effectively with, a variety of stakeholders
- Builds the PEOLC toolkit/resources strategically utilizing appropriate media (e.g., slide decks, videos, multi-media scripts, etc.)
- Coordinates organizations, leaders, and caregivers to test and pilot the toolkit
- Integrates feedback to ensure toolkit/resources are useful and impactful
- Prioritizes and organizes work to ensure deliverables are met
- Plans logistics, as needed to ensure appropriate research, engagement, consultation, communication, development, and testing/piloting
- Provides regular updates to Project Lead, outlining actions and key decision points
THE INDIVIDUAL WHO WILL SUCCEED
- Is aligned with Wing Kei’s vision and mission
- Undergraduate degree in a relevant field is required; graduate degree in relevant field would be an asset
- Possesses excellent research and analytical skills
- Minimum 2 years’ experience with developing adult education resources
- Experience in continuing care and/or palliative and end of life care, preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of, and experience with, stakeholder engagement
- A positive, collaborative approach to work
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively
- Experience with culturally-sensitive care would be an asset
