Wing Kei is an innovative, caring, and resourceful provider of culturally-appropriate Seniors Care in Calgary. We are proud of the care we offer seniors: we are among the top in the province for health quality indicators and have received exemplary standing from Accreditation Canada, most recently scoring 100% in our accreditation assessment.
Since opening in 2005, we have flourished with the loyal support of a like-minded community of government, funders, partners, and donors. Our high-in-demand services include long term care, supportive living, and an adult day program. To continue to meet the demand for senior care services in our community, we are opening a new long term care and hospice facility in 2026. This position, Resident Coordinator is responsible for the supervision of staff and coordination of resident care with multidisciplinary team members as well as communications with families.
THE ROLE
Key Accountabilities
- Demonstrate, promote and advocate the Wing Kei vision, mission and core values
- Perform the functions of a Registered Nurse according to the CARNA Standards
- Performs the role of Charge Nurse of the unit(s) as assigned
- Serves as a unit team leader and provides clinical support and supervision to LPNs and HCAs
- Is accountable for nursing care provided on specific unit: participate in the assessment and planning of nursing care, develop care plans and effectively implements the nursing process
- Is responsible for accurate medical documentation including MDS data entry
- Ensure adequate nursing supplies and equipment on the unit and places orders as necessary and ensures efficient and responsible use of such supplies
- Communicate with pharmacy to meet residents’ medication needs. Checks and receives medication from Pharmacy, stores and administers medications properly. Keeps up-to-date record and control of medication.
- Provide nursing assessments; process physician’s order and provide assistance to physicians
- Provide cognitive, social and emotional support to clients and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to encourage clients’ engagement in programs that improve their quality of life
- Participate in on-going trainings to ensure high standard of service and best practices in the field is achieved
- Perform other direct care activities as needed, including daily living and personal hygiene activities

- Registered Nurse with current CARNA registration
- Current CPR (BCLS) Certificate
- Demonstrated proficiency in clinical assessment skills within Scope of Practice and effective leadership skills
- Is diligent with good observation skills, keen attention to details
- Is respectful for clients and their family members, as well their rights and privacy, and properties
- Is committed to perform and promote effective work practices and safety awareness
- Possess effective verbal and non-verbal skills to communicate with clients and interdisciplinary teams; ability to communicate in Chinese would be an asset
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts including days, evenings, nights on weekdays and weekends
- Effective leadership skills with experience in supervising nursing staff an asset
- Experience in working in Long Term Care or Support Living (SL4) setting preferred
