Minister’s Seniors Service Award Nomination

Wing Kei was recently nominated for the 2023 Minister’s Seniors Service Award in the category of non-profit organization award, which recognizes organizations' outstanding service for Alberta's seniors. 

In the nomination, it reads, "Wing Kei Care Centres represent a commitment to quality, culturally sensitive services, and compassionate support for the elderly."

"We are so proud to be nominated for this award. All staff shares a part in this nomination and we are so happy for them to be recognized for their resilience and dedication in caring for our seniors," says Dr. Harry Zhou, Board Chair, "This nomination serves as a powerful reminder to why we must continue to grow and serve the increasing aging population with the Wing Kei Village Phase One." 

Award of Excellence from ACCA

Evelyn Ma, Clinical Manager, received an Award of Excellence from the Alberta Continuing Care Association (ACCA) in November 2020.  This award recognizes heroes in long term care and supportive living.

Evelyn exemplifies the Wing Kei culture - finding solutions to tough challenges, fostering collaboration and teamwork, and always, always, always focusing on the residents first. She leads by example, modeling a deep respect, profound love, and instinctive connection to seniors.

Community Partnership Award from Chrysalis

We were honoured to receive the Community Partnership Award from Chrysalis in December 2019, an organization that supports people with special needs. We welcome Chrysalis volunteers and are grateful for their commitment, reliability, imagination and quality of work.

Exemplary Standing from Accreditation Canada

In December 2018 Wing Kei was accredited with Exemplary Standing in care and services from Accreditation Canada, which affirms it has attained the highest level of performance, achieving excellence in meeting the requirements of the accreditation program.

Innovator of the Year

On September 14, 2016 we were so proud to receive this very distinguished award from the Alberta Continuing Care Association (ACCA), for being the first long term care facility to fully integrate electronic-based documentation in a Care Model.

Certificate of Achievement

Awarded by Alberta Health which recognizes Wing Kei for fully complying with the accommodation audit requirements and providing quality accommodation services.

In 2015 Wing Kei was nominated for the Minister’s Seniors Service Award, which recognizes individuals or organizations who volunteer to support and serve Alberta seniors.

“Award of Excellence” to Director of Care

Jane Tse, our Director of Care, received the award from Alberta Continuing Care Association (ACCA) in 2011 for her tremendous work in creating a positive and caring environment for residents, staff and their families. She was selected from among 8 Directors of Care.
