On Friday, October 27th, Wing Kei was blessed by the attendance of over 150 members of the community who joined to celebrate a special milestone, the Wing Kei Village Phase I Sod-Turning Ceremony.
Together, we raised over $355,000! A huge thank you to all of our supporters and the over 800 walkers who braved through the smoke to be with us on May 20th. We look forward to seeing everyone again in-person in next year's Walk for Wing Kei!
We were honoured to host Mr. Paul Chiang, Member of Parliament for Markham-Unionville, Ontario and Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Housing and Diversity and Inclusion (Diversity and Inclusion) at Wing Kei Crescent Heights on July 8th . In Mr. Chiang’s first visit to Wing Kei, he toured the facility, met with our residents and staff. Following the tour, Mr. Chiang met with Wing Kei and other local community leaders led by former MLA Teresa Woo-Paw.
We were honoured to host the Honourable Jason Copping, Minister of Health, and the Honourable Brian Jean, Minister of Economy, Jobs & Northern Development at Wing Kei Crescent Heights just before the Easter long weekend. In addition to provincial dignitaries, we were joined by Ward 7 Councillor Terry Wong and community figures such as Jack Yee, CEO of the Calgary Chinatown Development Foundation, as well as Dr. Astrid Kuhn, UCP Candidate for Calgary-Buffalo, among others.
We were honoured to host Madam Zhao Liying, Consul-General of the People’s Republic of China, in her first visit to Wing Kei Greenview. Alongside, we were joined by Deputy Consul-General Wang Xiusheng and Consul Gao Xiang.
